Transforming Mental Healthcare for First Responders & FR Families

Trauma-Informed Care from Experts with First Responder Experience

Welcome to our psychotherapy practice, dedicated to providing specialized mental health services to first responders. Driftwood Psychotherapy isn’t just any mental health counseling practice—our mission is born from experience. Founded by George Forsythe, a retired Maryland State Police officer with 26 years of service, we provide counseling designed specifically for those who serve or support frontline professionals and their families.

Our group of clinicians understands the unique stressors and challenges faced by law enforcement, firefighters, EMS professionals, and their families. We bring empathy, professionalism, and decades of collective experience in treating conditions such as PTSD, trauma-related stress, anxiety, and depression, ensuring sensitive care attuned to your needs.

Our primary goal here at Driftwood Psychotherapy is to provide a safe place for first responders, their families, and anyone impacted by trauma. We offer a safe and confidential environment where clients can explore their thoughts and emotions with a licensed therapist who has experience in working with first responders. Our approach to therapy is evidence-based and tailored to meet the individual needs of each client. We use a variety of therapeutic techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, EMDR, and trauma-focused therapy to address issues such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and substance abuse.

At our practice, we recognize the importance of confidentiality and privacy for our clients. We adhere to the highest ethical and professional standards and take every measure to ensure the safety and comfort of our clients.

We understand that seeking help can be challenging, and we are here to support and guide our clients every step of the way.
